Zakk & Jack on Fox Sports Radio for Saturday, June 17, 2010 HERE

Fox Sports Radio for Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th from 8:00 to 11:00 ET

This weekend I get to feel a little bit like Dwyane Wade.  I’ll be surrounded by two of the best from FSR.

On Saturday night it’s Zakk with Jack Trudeau and then on Sunday night I’ll be joined by Jon Crispin.

Here’s some more about Jack Trudeau HERE

Jon Crispin HERE

And myself HERE

“Bitter, Table for Ohio?”

Can you blame them?  “The Fumble”, “The Drive”, “The Move” and now “The Decision”.  It’s not like a city nicknamed “The Mistake on the Lake” had much else.

We’ll cover it all including reactions from both Cleveland and Ohio this weekend.

Ramirez, Hart, Holliday… it’s not exactly Bond, McGwire and Sosa is it?  We’ll preview the 2010 MLB Home Run Derby, the 81st annual All Star Game while looking back at the first-half and ahead to the second-half of the MLB season.

“There are two kinds of people I can’t stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch,” Nigel Powers from Austin Powers in Goldmember.

The Netherlands hope to win their first World Cup finals on Sunday as Spain makes their debut in the championship match.  Germany and Uruguay in the runner-up match on Saturday.

Phil Mickelson had a chance to become the No. 1 golfer in the world this weekend at the Scottish Open.  Too bad it rained on Phil’s parade as “Lefty” missed the cut.

Good news for Phil, his best British Open result came after he missed a cut.  We’ll look ahead to the 2010 British Open being played at St. Andrews next week.

Tiger Woods doesn’t let his personal problems get in the way of playing at a major so he’ll be in this year’s British Open.

While we await word of his official divorce (so strange since he always looked so happy when with Elin) we’ll share audio from Tiger’s not-so-tame press conference from this week’s J.P. McManus Invitational Pro-Am.

Since JaMarcus Russell has plenty of beverages in front of him, maybe I’ll kick back and enjoy a “Purple Drank” tonight.

We’ll cover the latest news and notes from around the NFL.

Plus, your calls at 877-99-ONFOX and text us at 66369.

Fox Sports Radio for Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 8:00 to 11:00 ET

God Bless the U.S.A.

(And all your lovely “T&A”)

Our nation turns 234 years old on Sunday.  Also celebrating a birthday on Sunday, owner and former principal executive of the New York Yankees, George Steinbrenner (who, ironically, is also turning 234 years old).  Actually, ‘The Boss” is 80 today.  Al Davis is 81 this July 4th.

Sunday is the 1 year anniversary of the murder of Steve McNair.  Last July 4th, we were shocked to learn of his death and the details that surrounded the tragedy.  We’ll try to remember Steve McNair the “player” and not the “playa”.  READ

Phone Poll tonight:  On this national holiday we ask, “Who would you place on your Mount Rushmore of sports heros?”

Laura Baron is a relationship consultant and host of the VH1 reality show, “You’re Cut Off!”

Hear what she has to say about the Elin Nordegren reported divorce settlement with Tiger Woods.

Lineups for the 2010 MLB All Star Game are being announced today.  Let’s discuss who should (or should not) have made the 81st Midsummer Classic.

Another Wimbledon tournament comes to an end on Sunday.  We’ll chat with FSR’s tennis expert, Justin Gimelstob, about another Serena Williams title and the men’s championship too.

Saturday’s meeting in between the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James appears to have went pretty well.  Still, fans in Cleveland need to brace themselves for the possibility that “The King” will leave his court in Cleveland to play elsewhere.

Poll Question: “What athlete broke your heart by leaving your favorite team or city?”

We’re taking your calls at 877-99-ONFOX and text us at 66369!

Fox Sports Radio for Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET)

Is one not enough this holiday weekend?

Zakk & Jack on Fox Sports Radio for 2 shows this 4th of July weekend.  Join us both nights from 8:00 to 11:00 pm (ET) across the greatest nation in the world.

On Saturday’s show…

Not so fast, Chicago.  We’ll give you the latest on the LeBron James sweepstakes and the current status of Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce and more in the greatest and most exciting free agent market in the history of the NBA.

Is Derek Jeter the most overpaid player in MLB?  According to 2010 statistics by the “Baseball Prospectus” he’s one of them.  Hear who else makes the list.

The 81st MLB All Star Game is on July 13th.  Fan voting has ended and the starting lineups will be announced on Sunday.

Who should make it?  Who shouldn’t??

Tiger Woods barely made the cut at the tournament that once bared his named.  Updates and the latest storylines from the AT&T National throughout the show.

Randy Kessler is a celebrity attorney who has represented sports stars such as Travis Henry, Stephen Jackson and Lance Briggs.  He’s also sued some greats such as former heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield.

Read Randy’s blog on the reported Tiger Woods/Elin Nordegren settlement and we’ll chat with him about the details and options each side may have considered.

Serena Williams closes in on her 4th Wimbledon title and its Rafeal Nadal vs. Tomas Berdych in the mens final.

We’ll talk with Justin Gimelstob live from the “All England Club” this weekend.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are #1 in college football again?  That’s how EA Sports ranks them in their preseason Top 25 for NCAA College Football 11 (which will be released in a couple of weeks).

We’ll talk to the folks from EA Sports to breakdown the preseason rankings and also quiz them on how well last year’s poll turned out for the video game makers.

He was once labeled “Pro Football’s Dirtiest Player” by Sports Illustrated but today he has fallen on very hard times.  Conrad Dobler talks to us about his struggles detailed in his autobiography, “Pride & Perseverance”.

Larry King announced this week that he is hanging-up his suspenders from his nightly show on CNN after 25 years.

Tonight’s phone and text poll… What sports stars need to hang it up too?

And we’ll be taking your calls at 877-99-ONFOX – you can text us at 66369 too!

Fox Sports Radio for Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET)

Zakk & Jack on Fox Sports Radio for two shows this weekend!  Call at 877-99-ONFOX and text us at 66369.

It’s all over for the U.S.A. at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  Too bad we don’t get a chance to play Ghana in baseball, basketball or (our form of) football.

We’ll give you the latest plus… How much could Landon Donovan’s goal against Algeria earn him in the future?  Did you hear what the British tabloids are reporting about Donovan?

Most credit Arthur Ashe as being the first African American to break down
the barriers in tennis in the early 1970s.  Althea Gibson was actually the first
African American to ever play at Wimbledon in 1956 and she won her first title at the US Open in 1957.

While Wimbledon takes a Sunday break, Betsy Blankenbaker (who directed, wrote and produced “A Perfect Match”) joins us to share the remarkable story of a forgotten moment in sports that helped paved the way for breaking down the gender and color-barrier in sports.

Stephen Strasburg got his fist official LOSS as a major league pitcher, but only gave up 1 earned run while striking out 9 in Wednesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

Strasburg’s record is 2-1 and he has 41 KO’s in 25.1 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.78 after his first 4 professional outings.  Should he be invited to the 2010 All Star Game?

“I.M. Anonymous” is an alias for a former NFL veteran who now writes columns for the New York Daily News and shares the deepest (and darkest) secrets of pro football.

His June column is titled, “Listen up Ben Roethlisberger & Tiger Woods: Compassion & cash goes a long way with women and groupies” and he suggests that players take care of their groupies now – or be prepared for them to get even later.

Laura Baron is a relationship consultant and host of VH1′s reality series, “You’re Cut Off!”.  On the VH1 show, Laura coaches nine girls (aka “Gold-Diggers”) to discover life beyond money and possessions.  (Good luck, Laura!)

Laura has some thoughts to share about the claims made in the latest New York Daily News article written by “I.M. Anonymous”.

We’ll share some notes from around the NFL and also be joined by pro football scout, Mike Giddings.

Friday (6/26/10) wasn’t just the 1 year anniversary of the death for the “King of Pop” it was also a year to the day that the “Queen of my childhood crush” passed away.

We’ll talk about some of the hottest women who are no longer alive and ask “What sex symbol from the past do you still find hot?”

Tonight’s phone and text polls… What coach (college or pro) is most on the hot seat in 2010?  What former sex symbol from the past do you still have a crush on?

Fox Sports Radio for Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET)

It’s the first of two shows this weekend for Zakk & Jack.  We’ll be checking the phones at (877) 99-ONFOX as well as your texts at 66369.

On Saturday’s show…

Our show on Saturday will last 3 hours.  Which means you can listen live and then replay the full show at least twice more in the time you could watch the 11 hour and 5 minute marathon tennis match in between John Isner and Nicolas Muhat.

6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 6-7, 70-68 was the final score of the match which included 183 games and 215 aces.  Justin Gimelstob joins us live from Wimbledon to recap Saturday’s action.

Landon Donovan’s game-winning goal over Algeria sent the United States to the Round of 16 in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  Christopher Sullivan, host of Fox Soccer Channel’s daily World Cup recap show “Ticket to South Africa”, joins us live at 9:30 (ET).

Why did the Spanish soccer announcer sound more excited about Donovan’s goal than most of us heard on the English-speaking broadcast?

Unsure of what your favorite team did during Thursday night’s 2010 NBA Draft?  We’ll break it down plus look ahead to the upcoming free agency period featuring LeBron James with Chris Monter of the Monter Draft News.

Fredi Gonzalez was fired this week as manager of the Florida Marlins.  In 3 full seasons as their skipper, Gonzalez improved the Marlins total wins each season (from 71 to 84 to 87).  The 2010 Marlins have the 5th lowest payroll in MLB and were 34-36 at the time of Gonzalez’s firing.

Are too many coaches and managers fired because expectations are too high or unrealistic?

Phil Jackson is unsure if he’ll return to the Los Angeles Lakers for his 4th shot at an NBA three-peat.  This week Jackson said he is ‘leaning toward retirement’ but wasn’t ready to make his decision just yet.

Didn’t Phil already “retire” from coaching after the 2004 season?  How many times can athletes (Brett Favre, Roger Clemens, Michael Jordan) use the word in place of admitting they really just want to take some time away?  Is it time we “retire” the word “retirement” in sports?

Also tonight’s phone and text polls… What changes would you make to game of soccer or the television broadcast to make it a better spectator sport in America?  What coaches (college or professional) were most unjustly fired after “over-achieving” within a franchise or university?

Fox Sports Radio for June 19, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET)

The 2 former QB’s again take over the airwaves this Saturday night on the Fox Sports Radio Network.

Here’s the rundown for our Father’s Day weekend show…

They say There is no “I” in “Team”, but Albert Haynesworth reminds us all that there is a “Me” in “Team”.  London Fletcher already blasted his Redskins teammate but we’ll tell you why other stars around the NFL should be upset with the Pro Bowl DT’s recent actions.

The LA Lakers win their 16th NBA championship.  But was that Ron Artest or Kanye West doing the postgame interview?

Geoffery C. Arnold talks about the NBA Finals and we’ll look ahead to the free agent circus and the 2010-2011 season.

Dan Beyer provides us a live update following Saturday’s 3rd round of the U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods plays his 5th competitive event since… well, you know.  So when are we going to see the new and improved man that was promised during the speech this February from TPC Sawgrass?

This Father’s Day weekend you’ll be sure to hear about former athletes like Evander Holyfield, Travis Henry, Shawn Kemp and others who will NOT win any Father of the Year Awards.  But bad dads come from all walks of life so we’ll share some stories that will prove it.

Brian Sack is an actor and writer.  His book “In the Event of My Untimely Demise: 20 Things My Son Needs to Know” is a wonderful read for any father.  We’ll talk with Brian Saturday night on FSR.

Those damn vuvuzelas at the FIFA World Cup.  The Staples Center banned them from the NBA Finals, Wimbledon did a preemptive strike to keep them away and the Florida Marlins are giving 15,000 mini-vuvuzelas to fans at Saturday’s game.

Our poll tonight… What crowd customs or sounds heard at American sporting events do you despise?

Your phone calls at 877-99-ONFOX and text us at 66369 on Fox Sports Radio!

Fox Sports Radio for June 12, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET)

On Saturday night two ex-quarterbacks take over the airwaves at Fox Sports Radio.  Jack Trudeau joins Zakk Tyler (real name: D.J. Zaccagnini) for three hours of live sports talk from 8:00 to 11:00 pm (ET).

Football fans know that Jack quarterbacked the Colts from 1986-1993 (then played with the NY Jets in 1994 and Carolina Panthers in 1995)

Me?  I was the starting QB for the Shaler Midget Cubs in 1976

 On the show…

Nebraska joins the Big Ten, Colorado departs for the Pac-10 so, for the time being, the Big 12 is left with 10 teams while the Big Ten has 12 and the Pac-10 has 11.  And that’s not even the confusing part.

We’ll talk NCAA conference expansion on FSR.

The NCAA handed USC 4-years probation on Thursday for violations.  The Trojans are banned from postseason bowl games for 2 seasons and lose scholarships as well. Pete Carroll said he was ‘shocked’.  New coach Lane Kiffin denies this will hurt Southern Cal in the recruiting process.

What are your thoughts?  I have some and so will Jack Trudeau who played for Pete Carroll.

Stephen Strasburg makes his 2nd career MLB start on Sunday against the Cleveland Indians.  We heard he’s a pretty good pitcher – many times and in numerous ways from Bob Costas during Strasburg’s debut on Tuesday night.

We’ll see and compare what the phenomenal debut did to the betting props for Strasburg’s start at Cleveland on Sunday.

Which brings us to a web poll.  Who had the biggest “man crush” in the history of sports broadcasting?  Bob Costas on Stephen Strasburg?  John Madden on Brett Favre?  Dick Vitale on Bob Knight? Howard Cosell on Muhammad Ali? Joe Theismann on himself??

Vote HERE

Entertainment reporter Maria Menounos is a diehard Boston fan and she’s been court side cheering her Celtics while abusing the competition during the postseason run.

Vince Carter of the Orlando Magic was her target during the Eastern Conference Finals.  Maria joins us to share some of her trash-talking, her pregame ritual and more.

Since millions are into it, we’ll try.  Christopher Sullivan is an expert analyst for Fox Soccer Channel’s daily World Cup recap show “Ticket to South Africa.”  He’ll join us to recap all Saturday’s action from the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Over 2 million fans in the windy city attended the parade to celebrate the Stanley Cup champions.  It was a long time in coming since the Blackhawks haven’t owned Lord Stanley since 1961.

But aren’t they all for sports fans in Chicago?  We have a theory as to why to discuss on FSR.
